A powdery violet opening with a tart raspberry and cranberry edge settles into orris, rose and jasmine over a soft base of cedarwood, musk and a hint of leather. It wears as a rich, formal floral for women that suits cool weather and evenings, and the current bottling reads a little fruitier than the 2008 original. It suits fall, winter and spring, and is a little heavy for high summer.
