It opens with a cool rush of bergamot and pepper over smoky frankincense and a pinch of pimento berry, then moves into dry vetiver, papyrus, sandalwood and a dark rose, and it dries down to soft suede, saffron and warm, faintly smoky woods. It suits men and women who like a serious incense scent with a calm, grounded mood, and it works for evenings out as well as cool days at the office. It is at its best in fall and winter, works on cool spring days, and is too heavy for summer heat.
